Quote from the Coach: “Became our go to WR last season with 30 catches overall and 3 TDs overall (tied for team lead). Contributed another 150 yards and 1 TD last season running the football. Has excellent open field vision, has the ability to be the home run hitter on offense anytime he touches the ball. Played 14 games for us last season on defense at safety. Was recently named captain for the 2026 season.”
What’s your proudest moment on the football field, this season or in your career?
Getting first team all sol WR during my first year as a wide receiver.
Describe a play where you made a game-changing impact. What was going through your mind?
Huge momentum swinging pick in the 4th quarter of district semifinals against Coatesville. This was huge in the game, we were able to run down the clock and leave them in desperation time inside their own 20 yards line, which lead us to victory.
What’s the toughest part of playing the position (s) you play, and how do you prepare for each?
Playing wide receiver it’s huge to be on the same page as the quarterback and understanding where to sit in an open hole. While at free safety in our defense you are the quarterback of the secondary, if you make a wrong call it could lead the entire secondary to mess up.
Which NFL player do you model your game after, and what do you admire about them?
Julian Edelman, he’s a under size wr that was able to use his smaller size and speed to his advantage, which is what I try to do on the field.
What’s a drill or skill you’re grinding to perfect before the season?
Route running, it’s something I wasn’t the greatest at last year that I would like to improve on.
How did you start playing football, and what keeps you passionate about it?
I started playing football when I was about 8, and just improving every year and looking back at where I started keeps me going, aswell as the family that the teams build.
Who’s been your biggest supporter (e.g., coach, family, teammate) in your football journey?
My biggest supporter has probably been my parents, with them both always being there and my dad being there to help me work with the things I did wrong.
What’s a challenge you’ve overcome—on the field or off—that’s made you a better player or person?Last season I was playing on a broken back just about all season, it really made me understand to not take anything for granted as something like that could have taken me out for the season.
How does playing in the Suburban One League shape your experience as a high school athlete?
It’s an extremely competitive league, in recent years there’s never really been a team that was unbeatable. I also think it’s one of the best examples of hard nosed football in the state, where each game whichever team made the grittier plays came out on top.
What’s the one song on your pre-game playlist that fires you up, and why?
Blue notes by Meek Mill, it has always got me locked in and mentally prepared for a football game.
What’s your nickname in the locker room, and how’d you earn it?
I don’t really have a nickname, just about everyone on the team just calls me Leuthe though.
If you could take one teammate’s skill for a game, whose would you pick and why?
I would probably take Wyatt Moyer’s skill as I have never been in the trenches before, and I feel like it would be pretty fun being able to hit the big guys up front.
What’s your biggest goal for this season with your team?
Not falling off the cliff, the early 2020’s Pennridge football teams are gone Coach Beller did a fantastic job of turning this football team around. We lost a ton of seniors last year and are coming into this season as a young team but I believe we are still a very talented group that can show last year wasn’t just a lucky season.
Are you eyeing college football? What’s your dream school or program to play for?
I am currently committed to Pennsylvania College of Technology for lacrosse but I’m not completely shutting down my football recruitment, and my dream team has got to be Penn State.
Where do you see yourself in football or life five years from now?
If I get the opportunity to play at a division one level, I could see myself there.
Who’s an under-the-radar teammate who deserves more shine, and why?
I think Mike Ferguson is a guy who does the little things right, plays with a chip on his shoulder and doesn’t seem to get the respect he should as he made tons of huge plays for us last year at corner.
What’s the loudest or most memorable crowd moment you’ve experienced in a game?
It has to be beating coatesville in the district semi’s, they were a team loaded with division 1 talent, but we were a team bonded on family, he built trust in everyone of our guys to come out on top as underdogs.
