Fourth Annual BuxMont Showcase Brings Top Regional Talent to Souderton Area

The Fourth Annual BuxMont Showcase took place Wednesday night at Souderton Area High School, bringing together some of the top underclassmen football talent from across the Suburban One League, Pioneer Athletic Conference, Ches-Mont League, and surrounding areas.

Hosted by Star Athletic Alliance, the event featured position drills, one-on-one competitions, group work, and 7-on-7 sessions in front of college coaches and showcase staff. From the opening warmups through the final competitive periods, the intensity stayed high as athletes competed for recognition and exposure.

This year’s showcase once again featured strong quarterback play, several dominant defensive performances, and a deep group of skill position talent. Following the event, Suburban One Insider spoke with event staff and college coaches to identify several players who consistently stood out throughout the evening.

Several athletes also saw immediate recruiting momentum following the event, including Upper Dublin quarterback Lawson Tyler and North Penn athlete Rylei Gray, who both received offers from Stonehill College shortly after the showcase.

Top Performers

Lawson Tyler (Upper Dublin, QB | Class of 2027)

Tyler was one of the more polished quarterbacks at the showcase from start to finish. He threw with confidence during drills, showed good touch at every level, and consistently looked comfortable commanding the offense during competition periods. Following the event, Tyler picked up an offer from Stonehill College.

Colton Sams (Southern Lehigh, QB | Class of 2027)

Sams impressed with his arm strength and ability to push the ball downfield. He stayed poised throughout the evening and had several strong reps during the 7-on-7 portion of the showcase as well as position drills.

Chase Hart (Souderton Area, TE/LB | Class of 2028)

Hart was one of the biggest defensive standouts at the showcase and firmly established himself as one of the top linebackers in attendance. The rising sophomore played fast, physical, and instinctive throughout the evening, showing the ability to move sideline-to-sideline while consistently standing out during competition periods. Several coaches and evaluators viewed him as the second-best linebacker at the event regardless of class. Hart also impressed enough during drills that coaches requested to see him work additional pass-rush one-on-one reps, where he continued to perform well.

Christian Kauffman (Wyomissing, DL | Class of 2027)

Kauffman stood out immediately with his size, strength, and motor. He was disruptive during line drills and consistently won reps with physicality and leverage.

Djecy Ngoyi (Souderton Area, DL | Class of 2027)

Ngoyi flashed explosiveness throughout the showcase and was one of the more active defensive linemen in attendance. His quick first step created problems all evening.

Lucas Sutyak (Southern Lehigh, OL | Class of 2027)

Sutyak put together a strong overall performance in both drills and competition work. He showed solid footwork, balance, and the ability to anchor against power.

La’Rod Potter (Wissahickon, LB/EDGE | Class of 2028)

Potter was one of the more versatile defenders at the showcase and showed the ability to impact multiple drill periods throughout the evening. Primarily an outside linebacker/edge player, Potter competed in one-on-one sessions after recommendations from showcase staff and held his own against strong competition. His physicality, athleticism, and motor consistently stood out during both drills and live periods.

Kaden Pickersgill (Spring-Ford, QB | Class of 2027)

Pickersgill had one of the cleaner throwing sessions of the night. He delivered the ball on time, showed good mechanics, and consistently connected during live work.

Alex Whitcomb (Souderton Area, WR | Class of 2027)

Whitcomb turned heads with his route running and ability to create separation. He was reliable throughout the evening and made several difficult catches look routine.

Sonny Baldino (Great Valley, WR | Class of 2027)

Baldino consistently competed at a high level throughout the showcase. His effort, athleticism, and physicality stood out during multiple drill sessions.

Rylei Gray (North Penn, RB/DB | Class of 2027)

Gray displayed elite athleticism throughout the event and stood out on both sides of the football. Whether working at running back or defensive back, he consistently flashed speed, explosiveness, and competitiveness during drills and live sessions. Gray’s strong overall performance helped earn him an offer from Stonehill College following the showcase.

Ziyon Smith (North Penn, RB/DB | Class of 2028)

Smith showcased quick feet and natural burst throughout the evening. He was one of the more dynamic younger offensive players in attendance.

Caleb Moyer (Souderton Area, RB/LB | Class of 2027)

Moyer ran with confidence and physicality during drills and competition work while also drawing attention defensively. Coaches requested to see him work at linebacker during portions of the showcase, where he flashed athleticism and toughness on the defensive side of the football as well.

Blake Landherr (Pennridge, LB | Class of 2028)

Landherr was widely regarded by coaches and event staff as the top linebacker at the showcase. He consistently flashed athleticism, physicality, and strong instincts during drills and live competition periods. The Pennridge standout controlled reps throughout the evening and separated himself as one of the premier defensive performers at the event.

Michael Neville (Springfield Delco, WR | Class of 2027)

Neville put together a very solid overall performance and showed consistency throughout the event. He ran crisp routes and competed well during live sessions.

The Fourth Annual BuxMont Showcase once again proved to be one of the better offseason exposure opportunities in the region for underclassmen looking to compete against high-level talent and gain valuable experience in front of coaches and evaluators.

With several rising prospects making strong impressions throughout the evening — and multiple athletes already seeing recruiting momentum immediately afterward — expect many of these names to continue generating attention heading into the 2026 season.
