Top Returning Tight Ends 2025
- (Catches-yards-TDs)
- 1. Lucas Stewart (Neshaminy 22-215-2)- Stewart, who stands 5’11”, 185 lbs., returns for the Redskins after a stellar junior season. While the Skins are transitioning into a new offense under a new head coach, we don’t think it will affect Stewart’s game.
- 2. Larry Hughes (Upper Moreland 8-173-4)- The tall WR/TE hybrid stands an opposing 6’4.5” and tips the scales at slightly under 190 lbs. In a passing attack where he was sometimes the third and fourth option, he made the most of his catches and took half of them for touchdowns. UM has a new quarterback, but with a target like Hughes, you have to get him in the passing game.
- 3. Benji Ravitz (Upper Dublin 10-53-0)- Ravitz heads into his senior season primed to have a breakout performance on the defensive side of the ball, but don’t overlook his offensive impact. While the numbers don’t scream high-volume target, his size and offseason work ethic do. He stands slightly shy of 6’4” and is now up to 215 solid pounds. Newly minted QB1 Lawson Tyler should often look Ravitz’s way.
- 4. Jackson Gregoire (Pennridge 3-36-2)- The Rams have a stable of players to make an impact in 2025, but let’s not overlook the 6’1” 185 lb. Gregoire. Two-thirds of his catches last season went for six. We imagine veteran quarterback Noah Keating will continue to look his way with another year of varsity under his belt.
- 5. Jeff Cappa (CB West 2-22-0)- West’s senior leader is a prime candidate for All-League honors, but on the defensive side of the ball, like UD’s Ravitz. Last season, he caught only two passes for 22 yards, but we figure that with a new quarterback at the helm and Cappa’s freakish strength, he could see an uptick in targets.
- 6. Bobby Corapi (Abington 3-18-0)- Abington is another team breaking in a new quarterback in Sophomore Miles Yockus; however, Corapi is and should be a top target. The quiet leader lets his actions do the talking and leads by example. Bobby is another standout on the defensive side of the ball. We think he has the leadership and confidence that will warrant more targets in coach Bruce Fleming’s offense.
- 7. Wyatt Martin (North Penn 1-12-1)-Last season, Martin found himself behind All-State TE/DE Aidan Eves and All-League RB/WR Matthew Pownall, but of the catches that weren’t penalized, he hauled in 100% of his targets for 12 yards and a score. The 6’1” 210 lb. Martin will have his opportunities in 2025. Yes, Pownall, who is committed to the Naval Academy, is back, but QB1 Matt Bucksar will need others to step up and contribute.
- 8. Emilio Olivares (Quakertown 1-11-0)-The Panthers return one of the best arms in the league in Brady Martin, but lost almost all their offensive production through the air to Graduation. Olivares only saw action in eight games last season and registered one catch for eleven yards. The 6’1”, 180 lb. tight end should garner more targets as the receiving corps reestablishes itself and Martin finds his new favorite target.
- 9. Shane Baxter (William Tennent 1-11-0)- Just like his Quakertown counterpart, Baxter registered one catch for eleven yards. While the stats don’t jump off the page, it’s due to the depth chart and senior Ajmal Alwan being ahead of him. Heading into his senior season, the 6’0” 180 lb. Baxter will look to garner more targets as he only has a few players ahead of him in the pecking order of quarterback Gavin Mensch.
- 10. Brandon Zubyk (C.B. South 0-0-0)- Zubyk didn’t register an offensive statistic in 2024 but was third on the team in total tackles while his team went 12-1. Offensively, the Titans leaned on former, All-State TE/FB Eddie Bowen and TE Dan McCusker to the tune of 10-132-2TDs. With McCusker gone to graduation, we can see the possibilities of head coach Tom Hetrick looking Zubyk’s way in the passing game while also breaking in a new quarterback.
