On Field Focus
Proudest Moment: For Bartolillo, it was taking down CB West 22-17 this past season.
Game-Changing Play: Bartolillo, called back to his sack against North Penn in the regular season.
“We were spying on the quarterback all game because we knew he could run. Late in the game, on either third or fourth down, I was the spy and saw him start to roll, and I made the play. The sideline erupted after that one.”
Toughest Part of Playing Your Position: Bartolillo said it is the responsibility of being the quarterback of the defense.
“As the middle linebacker, it is my job to get everyone on the same page and get the play call to my teammates. But once everybody else is fine, I dial in on my keys and just go play ball.”
NFL Player Model: Ray Lewis.
Drill/Skill You Are Working On: After a dominant year in the run game, Bartolillo is working on his pass coverage skills to become an all-around better backer.
Personal Story
How I started: Bartolillo picked up the game at a young age. He started playing Pee Wee flag football over a decade ago.
Biggest Supporter: For Bartolillo, it is his father.
“He has been my biggest supporter through thick and thin. When you have your dad out there coaching and lifting with you, there are times where you butt heads, but with us it doesn’t matter he has helped me go through everything. He is always there for me, and he always pushes me to be better.”
Challenge You Overcame: Ahead of his junior campaign, Bartolillo added 40 pounds, jumping from 180 to 220. It was a grind, but protein shakes and a lot of weight lifting helped him become a much-improved backer.
“I needed it. When you are constantly going up against linemen weighing in above 250, it helps you hold your ground.
Suburban One League Impact: Bartolillo loves the SOL because of how connected it all feels.
“It is a lot of fun, I am playing some guys now on Friday nights that I grew up playing with in Pee Wee. A lot of those guys are still my friends to this day, but we all know there are no friends on the football field.”
