SOi’s 2025 Top Returning Players: Quarterbacks

Top Returning Quarterbacks

  1. 1. Kendall Jackson (Cheltenham ’27)- The Junior signal caller led the league in passing yards last season with 2,119 yards as a sophomore, which garnered him SOi’s first-ever Golden Arm Award, which is awarded to the quarterback that leads the league in passing yards. He also threw for 15 touchdowns. He’s in a new offense with a new head coach, but is primed for another big year.

  1. 2. Brady Martin (Quakertown ’26)- The senior threw for a school-record 2,013 yards last season as a junior while also throwing 21 touchdowns. With his legs, he scored four additional touchdowns. While he’s missing his number one target from a year ago, Quakertown is never in short supply of receiving options. We expect another phenomenal year from Brady.

  1. 3. Ben Walsh (Souderton ’26)- Walsh has started for the Indians since his freshman year and heads into 2025 as one of the top passers in the league. Walsh finished third in passing yards as a junior with 1,843. He threw for 20 touchdowns and scored an additional five on the ground. Souderton has the tools and skill players for Walsh to lead the league in 2025.

  1. 4. Matt Bucksar (North Penn ’26)-the Senior led the Knights to a District One Title appearance as a junior. He threw for 1,650 yards and 17 touchdowns. Matty also ran for 413 yards and three additional scores.  Behind Bucksar, North Penn is still the team to beat in 6A.

  1. 5. Michael Eckart (Neshaminy ’26)- Another Senior with starting experience. Eckhart threw for 1,208 yards for the Skins in 2024 as a junior. He also rushed for an additional 344 yards on the ground. Eckart has a new head coach in Nick Felus, but he specializes in quarterback development, so we expect a jump in Eckart’s stats even as he learns under a new coach.

  1. 6. Noah Keating (Pennridge ’26)- The Rams bring back one of the most seasoned quarterbacks in the league in Keating, who has committed to play at Division 1 Marist in the Fall. Keating was one of the top passers in 2024 with 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air. He also legged out 400 yards on the ground and four additional touchdowns. Head Coach Kyle Beller has a savvy QB with some weapons at the skill positions to expand on last season’s numbers.

  1. 7. Marley Emerson (CR South ’27)- Second-year quarterback Marley Emerson emerged last season as a player to know in the SOL after throwing for 1,053 yards as a sophomore. Emerson threw 9 touchdowns and rushed for another. In year two, we expect those numbers to rise as he is more comfortable with the playbook. He has good size (6’2”, 185 lbs.) with room to grow.

  1. 8. Gavin Mensch (William Tennent ’27)- As a sophomore, Mensch completed 52% of his passes for 573 yards and three scores. He added 180 yards on the ground and one rushing score. We expect a slight rise in those numbers as he has some playmakers at his disposal in running back Trey Noll, Athlete Derrek Geunther, and wide receiver Chase Lubrant.

  1. 9. Lawson Tyler (Upper Dublin ’27)- Junior quarterback stepping into the QB1 role after spending time behind senior-starter Kevin Etkin, who threw for over 1,800 yards last season. Tyler has the size (6’4.5”, 200 lbs.) and skill set to be successful in the Cardinals’ backfield. We expect some growing pains in the beginning, but don’t be surprised to see this young man at the top of the league by the season’s end.

  1. 10. Miles Yockus (Abington ’28)- Sophomore quarterback stepping into the starting role at Abington after seeing limited action last season as a freshman. Yockus has another year of experience under his belt, which will hopefully help slow down the game for him a bit. While we can expect some bumps along the way as he gets his feet wet, we can see him settling in nicely in Coach Fleming’s offense and being a top performer at the end of the year.
