With Pennsbury desperate for their first win and C.B. East looking to rebound from a tough loss, this Friday night clash at 7 p.m. promises physicality and strategic battles. Don’t miss the action as both teams aim to make a statement in conference play.
Pennsbury Falcons @ C.B. East Patriots
Patriot Stadium | Friday, September 19 | 7PM
2804 Holicong Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901
The Team Deets
Head Coach: Galen Snyder (3rd Season)
League & Conference: SOL-National
Season Record: (0-4, 0-0)
Last Week: Lost to Pennridge 14-0
Falcon Notables: Pennsbury has faced a brutal early schedule, battling top-tier teams like Pennridge, where they fell 14-0 last week. Despite the shutout, the Falcons showed defensive grit, holding Pennridge’s potent offense in check but struggling to spark their own attack. Injuries at running back, including the likely absence of Jordan Brensinger, have forced adjustments, with Coach Galen Snyder deploying a two-quarterback system featuring David Kane and Jack Arndt. Safety Luke Beighley has been a standout, anchoring a defense that needs to replicate its Pennridge performance to counter C.B. East’s balanced offense, which allowed two big runs in their recent loss.
I caught up with Coach Snyder to get his take on the matchup:
On rallying the team after tough early losses: “We have to keep working.”
On adjusting the offense with injuries at running back: “We actually have been playing two different QBs, David Kane and Jack Arndt.”
On his pick for featured student-athlete: “Luke Beighley has been playing very well for us this season at safety.”
To dive deeper into the Falcons’ mindset, I reached out to Beighley himself:
On the biggest lesson learned from a tough game: “One of the most important lessons I learned from a tough game is that there’s always guys that are gonna be bigger, stronger, and maybe even faster than you, but if you leave everything out there on the field and bring the highest level of intensity you got, they’ll remember playing you.”
On balancing academics and athletics: “I’m a STUDENT-athlete, so school work is treated just as importantly as practice.”
On his GameDay must-have: “I need to have a mindset that’s calm, cool, and collected before any game. Everything leading up to the opening kickoff needs to be mentally quiet. Once I get out on the field, though, it’s definitely a switch.”
Head Coach: John Donnelly (6th Season)
League & Conference: SOL-National
Season Record: (3-1, 0-1)
Last Week: Lost to C.B. South 21-14
Patriot Notables: C.B. East roared out to a 3-0 start, including a dominant win over Ridley, but hit a snag in their conference opener, falling 21-14 to C.B. South. Despite outgaining their rivals and forcing five three-and-outs, the Patriots were undone by missed red-zone chances and two explosive runs allowed. Their defense, allowing just 14 points per game, remains a strength, led by a disruptive front. Offensively, East’s balanced attack is improving, though Coach Donnelly demands sharper execution. Special teams have been a game-changer, with a blocked kick last week showcasing their impact. Captain Timmy Fuhrmeister has been a force on both lines, setting the tone for a squad eager to bounce back.
I spoke with Coach Donnelly about the game plan:
On bouncing back from the C.B. South loss: “The South game was back and forth. We created two turnovers on special teams, we outgained them, defensively we had five ‘three and outs,’ but we missed three scoring opportunities in the red zone and gave up two huge runs that resulted in TDs. We are still a very good football team… In our training this week, it is vital for us to sharpen up our execution on offense. We need all 11 in full swing.”
On attacking Pennsbury’s defense while stopping their run game: “Offensively, we have consistently moved the ball with solid production in each game thus far… The last two seasons we have had only 6 full possessions in each of those years against Pennsbury. They always have tough kids who are well coached. We are counting on our defense to get us a few more possessions… Our linebackers must have great eye discipline.”
On his pick for featured student-athlete: “Timmy Fuhrmeister: Captain who is coming up big in all three phases of the game. Always grades out at the top on the offensive and defensive lines. Blocked a kick last week. Outstanding vocal leadership and leads with a tough blue-collar work ethic.”
To get the pulse of the Patriots, I reached out to Fuhrmeister:
On lessons learned from tough games: “One thing I’ve learned is that when things get tough, you gotta lean on the people around you and believe they know what they’re doing and can get it done. Being physical in play always creates momentum, and that leads to good things.”
On balancing academics and athletics: “I balance the demands by having good time management. I use school time to get as much work done as I can, and when I get home after a long day and football practice, I just have to grind it out and not fall behind.”
On his GameDay must-have: “One of my must-haves is when my friend picks me up for the game. He always has a slice of pizza for me, and I pay him back for it. The pizza fuels greatness.”
Keys to the Game
Pennsbury: The Falcons’ dual-quarterback system must ignite the offense, with Kane and Arndt leaning on the offensive line to create openings despite running back injuries. Defensively, Beighley’s playmaking in the secondary will be critical to disrupt East’s passing game and force turnovers. After holding Pennridge to 14 points, Pennsbury’s defense must bring that intensity to keep this game close.
C.B. East: The Patriots need to convert red-zone opportunities after last week’s struggles. Fuhrmeister and the offensive line must dominate the trenches to exploit Pennsbury’s defensive lapses against balanced attacks. Defensively, disciplined linebacker play is essential to stop Pennsbury’s physical run game and limit possessions. Special teams could provide another game-changing moment.
Mayhem’s Bold Prediction
Pennsbury’s defensive resilience against C.B. East’s offensive versatility in a low-possession, hard-hitting battle. Pennsbury’s two-quarterback approach and physicality will challenge East, but the Patriots’ defensive front and special teams edge should create enough opportunities to pull away. C.B. East 24, Pennsbury 10.
