Future Stars Set for the 2026 BuxMont Showcase

The BuxMont Showcase has quickly become one of the premier offseason events in Eastern Pennsylvania — bringing together some of the top underclassmen talent in the region for a day built around competition, exposure, and opportunity.

After attending and covering last year’s event, one thing stood out above everything else: the energy. Whether it was the intensity of the one-on-ones, quarterbacks airing it out during 7-on-7s, or linemen battling in front of college coaches, the showcase delivered a competitive atmosphere that players genuinely embraced.

Heading into the 2026 edition, that intensity is only expected to grow.

This year’s group features a strong mix of established names, rising underclassmen, and hungry competitors looking to make a statement heading into the fall. From Division-I caliber talent already drawing national attention to first-time attendees eager to prove themselves, the showcase once again offers a glimpse into the future of Pennsylvania high school football.

Here are several players to watch heading into this year’s event:

Lawson Tyler | QB | Upper Dublin | Class of 2027

One of the most heavily recruited quarterbacks attending the showcase, Tyler enters the offseason with dialogue already underway with programs including Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Temple, Princeton, Brown, and several others.

Tyler said leadership remains one of his biggest offseason priorities.

“Personally my biggest goal is to continue building my leadership skills,” Tyler said. “Everything we want to earn this season is built in the weight room.”

After attending last year’s showcase, Tyler said the competitiveness of the one-on-ones stood out most.

“I’m looking forward to competing with other top players and especially QBs in the state.”

Rylei Gray | RB/DB | North Penn | Class of 2027

Gray returns to the showcase after a breakout sophomore season that earned him First Team All-League honors at defensive back, Second Team All-League honors at running back, and Second Team All-State recognition at DB.

Already receiving interest from programs including Rutgers, Army, Navy, Villanova, Michigan State, and Youngstown State, Gray said development and education remain key factors in his recruitment.

“I have heart and don’t care what my role is for the team,” Gray said. “I’m always going to succeed at it.”

Gray said he’s especially looking forward to the competition and meeting new players at this year’s event.

Sonny Baldino | WR | Great Valley | Class of 2027

Baldino enters the offseason with lofty goals both individually and for his team.

“I want to hit that 750+ yard receiving mark to go along with 8+ touchdowns,” Baldino said. “I want to be all-league, all-district, and all-state at receiver.”

The Great Valley standout has already taken visits to Villanova, Fordham, Marist, and Bloomsburg while planning to attend multiple prospect camps this offseason.

Baldino described himself as a disciplined player whose route running and effort define his game.

“If you watch my games, I take no plays off even if I’m not getting the ball.”

The 2026 showcase will mark his first appearance at the event.

Logan Cummings | QB | West Chester East | Class of 2027

Cummings arrives at the showcase with growing college interest from programs including Towson, Georgetown, Villanova, Syracuse, Maine, William & Mary, and Penn State.

The West Chester East quarterback said his focus this offseason is simple:

“Win our league and West Chester.”

Cummings called himself a hard worker and leader and said he’s excited for the opportunity to showcase his arm talent in front of new coaches during his first BuxMont Showcase appearance.

Blake Landherr | LB/TE/LS | Pennridge | Class of 2027

Landherr put together a massive sophomore campaign for Pennridge, recording 135 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and earning First Team All-League honors at linebacker.

A versatile athlete who also competes in track and field, Landherr said his offseason focus centers around continuing to improve his speed, strength, and football IQ while helping Pennridge make a playoff run.

“I’m a hardworking, coachable player,” Landherr said. “I take pride in being versatile and playing multiple positions.”

After attending last year’s showcase, Landherr said he’s looking forward to once again competing against top talent and learning from coaches.

Scott Youngblood | OL | Wissahickon | Class of 2027

Youngblood enters the offseason looking to continue proving himself after earning Second Team All-League honors and recording more than 50 pancakes during his junior season.

Despite being undersized by traditional recruiting standards, Youngblood believes his film speaks for itself.

“I am an underrated player based off the size,” Youngblood said. “But if you watch the film and the way I perform you will see I can play.”

The Wissahickon lineman has already been in dialogue with programs including Temple, Bloomsburg, Kutztown, Ithaca, Shippensburg, West Chester, and Ursinus.

James Wehrheim | WR | Quakertown | Class of 2027

Wehrheim returns to the showcase after enjoying the event’s competitive atmosphere last year.

“It was nice to see some guys compete before we played them during the season,” Wehrheim said.

The Quakertown receiver said his focus this offseason centers around becoming more reliable physically and mentally while continuing to grow as both a teammate and leader.

Wehrheim has been in dialogue with Lehigh, Kutztown, IUP, Eastern, and Ursinus heading into camp season.

Chase Hart | LB/TE | Souderton | Class of 2028

One of the younger names to watch at this year’s showcase, Hart already boasts impressive production and weight room numbers after a strong freshman campaign.

Hart finished last season with 50 tackles, two sacks, an interception, three touchdowns, and honorable mention all-league honors at both linebacker and tight end. He also reported a 525-pound squat and 615-pound deadlift.

“I’m a hard-working student athlete who’s willing to do whatever it takes to compete at the next level,” Hart said.

Hart said his favorite part of last year’s showcase was meeting players from different schools and interacting with college coaches.

Zion Culbreth | DT/Nose | Springfield (Montco) | Class of 2027

Culbreth will make his first BuxMont Showcase appearance this year after focusing his offseason on becoming stronger, faster, and more explosive.

The Springfield defensive tackle said he’s especially looking forward to the one-on-one portion of the event.

“Showing off my athletic ability. 1-on-1s to show my potential.”

Culbreth also emphasized his work ethic and team-first mentality as traits he hopes coaches recognize.

As the BuxMont Showcase continues to grow, so does its reputation as one of the top opportunities for players across the area to compete, gain exposure, and test themselves against some of the region’s best talent.

If last year’s event was any indication, expect another highly competitive day filled with rising stars, intense battles, and plenty of names college coaches — and football fans — will remember heading into the 2026 season.
