On Field Focus

 

 

Proudest Moment: For Ravitz, it was helping Upper Dublin capture a tough 35-28 road victory against Phoenixville in the 2024 PIAA District 1 playoffs. 

Game-Changing Play You Made: In the 2024 season opener, Ravitz scored a pick-six to help ice their victory over Wissahickon. 

Toughest Part of Playing Your Position: As a tight end, Ravitz said it is learning the run blocking schemes and passing patterns. It is key for Ravitz to execute in both the run and pass game. 

NFL Player Model: George Kittle.

“He is an excellent blocking tight end, but he can also go out on routes and catch the ball well.”

Drill/Skill You are Working On: This offseason, Ravitz has been focused on improving speed and agility.   

 

Personal Story

 

How I started: Ravitz got his inspiration from his father, who played football at Army. 

Biggest Supporters: For Ravitz, the answer was easy; it is his parents. 

“My Parents are my biggest supporters, and they are always there for me whenever I need them.”

A Challenge You Overcame: Ravitz was born with paralyzed vocal cords and was on an oxygen tank for the first couple of months of his life. 

Suburban One League Impact: Ravitz loves the competitive nature within the SOL. 

“I think it is great playing in Suburban One, there are a lot of good teams with good players, and you have to be ready to play every week.”

 

Football Flair

 

 

Pre-Game Ritual: For starters, a sandwich from Primo Hoagies is necessary. Then Ravitz gets a good stretch in and watches some more film. 

Pre-Game Song: Joke and the Thief by Wolfmother.

Nickname: Benjels.

“It came from some of my friends messing around with my name, and it stuck.”

Teammate's Skill You Wish You Had: Ravitz wishes he had Phil Roll’s strength.

Future and Goals - Season Goals: Ravitz is eyeing a district championship and a spot on the SOL’s first team. 

College Dreams: Ravitz wants to continue to play ball at the next level.

“Playing Division I has been a dream of mine ever since I started playing football.”

Five Years From Now: By that time, Ravitz hopes to still be playing ball.

Team and League Pride - What Makes Upper Dublin so Special: For Ravitz and Upper Dublin, it is all about playing for each other. 

“We all know that we have to buy into the team, and we know that if one or two people aren’t playing together, we will not succeed.”Under-the-Radar Teammate: Kevin Williams. “He helps push me to be better every day.”

Most Memorable Crowd Moment: For Ravitz, it was the pop of the crowd following his pick-six in week one against Wissahickon.
